The mind that mind - Osho

The problem, which is the basis of all problems, is the mind itself.
So, first thing you need to know what the mind of that material is made, whether entity or just a process, whether substantive or only an appearance.
And, unless you know the nature of mind, you can never solve any problem in your life.
You may strive, but if you try to solve individual problems, individual, you are bound to fail. In fact, there is no one individual's problem: the mind is the problem. Even if you solve this or that problem will not help, because the root remains untouched.
E 'own how to prune the branches of a tree, stripped without eliminating it. Sprout new leaves, new branches will grow even more than before, pruning helps the tree to become more lush. Destroy yourself, not the tree.
In that fight, wasting energy, time, life, and the tree will become stronger, thicker and more dense. Do not attempt to solve individual problems separately: they do not exist, the mind itself is the problem.
But the mind is hidden underground, which is why I say that is the root: you can not see. When you're facing a problem, this is the sunlight, you can see, and this deceives you. Always remember that this you see is never the root, the root is always invisible, it is always hidden. Never fight with what is manifest, because you'll be fighting with shadows.
If you look at your life, you can understand what I mean. I'm not talking about the mind on a theoretical level, but its practical reality. Here's the thing: the mind must be dissolved.
People come to me and ask, "How can you get to have a calm mind?" And I say, "There is nothing like it. Calm mind? I've never heard of." The mind is never calm, peace is no mind. The mind in itself, can never be peaceful, quiet. By its very nature, mind is alive, is in a state of confusion.
The mind can never be clear, can not be clear, because by its nature is confusion, blurred. Clarity is possible without the mind, peace is possible without the mind, the silence is possible without the mind.
So the first thing to do is understand the nature of the mind.
If you try to watch, you'll see that you do not ever come across something similar in mind. It is one thing, it looks like a crowd. There are individual thoughts, but acted so fast that it is impossible to see the intervals between each other.
The set of thoughts - millions of thoughts - they give you the illusion that the mind exists. 'S just like a crowd: millions of people who gather, there is something that can be defined as "crowd"? You can say that there is a crowd, beyond a set of individuals who are gathered in one place? But their being together, that are collected in a group gives you the feeling that there is something you can define "crowd."
This is the first step in understanding the mind.
Watch and you'll find thoughts, but not come across your mind.
And if this observation becomes truly your own direct experience, many things begin to change.
Watch the mind and see where that is. You'll find that the thoughts float, and that there are intermediate spaces between one another. And if you prolong your observation, you will see that the intervals are more numerous than thought, because every thought must be separated from the other, in fact, each word is separate. And more, go to the bottom, and you'll find more ranges and more extensive. You'll see an idea that floats, then a space where there is no thought, then it will be another thought, then another space yet.
If you're innocent, you can not see these intervals: jumping from one thought to another, you never see that range. If you buy knowledge, you'll see more and more space, you become fully aware, then we will prove immense spaces. And in those spaces, the truth is knocking at your door. In that space is achieved god, or in any other way you would call this experience.
happens just like the clouds: the clouds are moving, and can be so dense that it can not see the sky hidden behind them. He lost the blue vastness of the sky, you are completely enveloped by clouds. In this case continues to observe: a cloud moves and another has not yet entered into your visual field e. .. Suddenly, a gash in the blue sky.
The same thing happens inside you that you are the blue vastness of the sky, and thoughts are like clouds hovering above you, you fill it up.
So this is the first thing the mind does not exist as a separate entity, only thoughts are.
The second thing: the thoughts exist apart from you, no one with your nature, but come and go, while you continue to exist, persist.
You are like the sky is always there, neither is, nor should we. The clouds pass instead, they are a phenomenon of a few moments do not last forever. Even if you try to cling to a thought, you can not hold for long: it's going, because it is born and dies. Thoughts are not yours, not yours. Visitors, guests, but they are the hosts.
Look deeply, and that You will then be truly the master and the thoughts will be the guests. And while these are still beautiful, but if you forget to be completely the master of the house, and they take your place, then you'll be in trouble. That's what the hell you are the owner of the house, the house belongs to you, but the owners are the guests ... receive it, take care of it, but do not identify with them, otherwise it will become the masters.
The mind becomes the problem, because thoughts are so deeply rooted in you, you have completely forgotten the distance between you and them, has forgotten that they are just visitors who come and go.
Always remember the one who dwells in you: that is your nature. You're always careful about what than ever and never will be, just as the sky. Change the "gestalt" do not fix on visitors, remain rooted in the consciousness of being the boss: Guests can come and go.
the morning, day, night, come and then leave, come the night and then again in the morning. You remain (not as "you", because this is a thought) as pure consciousness, not your name, this is a thought, not your form, it too is a thought, not your body, because one day you'll realize that it too is a thought: only pure consciousness, nameless, formless. Only the purity, the absence of form and name, only the real phenomenon of being conscious, and only this remains.
If you identify with, becomes the mind. If you identify with, become the body. If you identify become the name and form, at which point the master is lost and you forget what is eternal and the momentary gains importance and relevance.
What is temporary is the world, the eternal and divine.
This is the second insight that you have come to recognize that you are the master and thoughts are the guests.
If you continue to watch, soon you will come to my third point: you'll see, that is, that thoughts are foreign intruders, strangers. No thought is yours: always come from the outside, you're just a step. A bird comes at home by a door and fly away from another. Just as a thought comes in and goes out to you.
A thought is just as external to you, as an object.
There is a completely different quality of being that comes from not thinking, not positive or negative thoughts, not just a state of mind. Limited to observe, stay aware, but not thinking. And if some thought goes ... and will surely, because thoughts are not yours, they float in the air. All around there is a noosphere, a sphere of thought that surrounds you completely. Just as the air, the thought is all around you, and you still get in on his own: stop only with the growth of your consciousness. Where to become more aware, thinking simply disappear, dissolve, because awareness creates an energy stronger than thought.
Awareness is like fire for thought. When you light a lamp at home, the darkness is no longer able to enter, you must turn off, and from all the darkness is spreading, in less than a minute surrounds you. The darkness does not go into a house with the lights on, the thoughts are like darkness: only come if there is no light inside. Awareness is a fire to become more aware, less thoughts come into you.
If you really integrate into your consciousness, thoughts do not come in you: you become like an impregnable citadel, nothing can penetrate it. This does not mean being closed, rather, is to be unconditionally open, but the same energy becomes aware of your stronghold. And if the thoughts can not enter you, you will turn around and go away. They'll get and, just as soon as you get closer, take another route. Then you can go anywhere, you never touching you again.
